TERGESTEO PALACE TRIEST (ITALY)
11/15/2008

Carlyle Group awarded Rizzani de Eccher a Euro 14.8 million contract for the renovation and redevelopment of Tergesteo Palace in Triest. This palace, a monumental building in neoclassical style built in 1842, is part of the 19th century expansion of Triest old town centre and is located just a short distance from the seafront. It is a six-storey building with a square base, divided by a full-height crosswise pedestrian gallery, and has an overall covered area of 14,000 m2.
This is a capital reconstruction project involving the strengthening of the structural floors, the complete remaking of the roof on the four quadrants of the building and on the gallery, the re-plastering of the facade walls, the replacement (or, wherever permitted, the repair) of windows and outside doors, the complete remaking of the technical services and installations, the arrangement of new layout solutions according to the proposed different functional destinations (business, office and residential) and the different finishing works required.
The building site, where activity is scheduled to continue for 25 months, has had to be organised in such way as necessary to ensure that many existing businesses continue operating until completion of construction works, while a few of them are to interrupt and resume operations according to different schedules.
