During 2007 VFR, a Joint Venture established between Rizzani de Eccher, VSL and Freyssinet with equal shares of capital, signed the Addenda to the Basic contract for the construction of two additional sections of the “Red line” light metro. The first of the two additional sections, so called T1-T3, serves the area of the Airport Terminals and includes the construction of additional 1,4 kilometres of viaduct with an estimated cost of circa USD 15 million; the second additional section, the most important one, belongs to a new metro line, the so called "Green Line", and concerns the construction of about 15 km of viaducts for the amount of about USD 40 million.. At the end 2007 the estimated total progress of the work should cover 60% of the project, whose total extension has reached by now nearly 60 Kilometres of viaduct with an overall cost of over USD 200 million. The building site equipment includes 10 launching girders, 4 form travellers for the launching of cantilever elements, and another two will be delivered on site soon, 5 segment transporters and 3 additional launching sets with temporary structures resting on the ground, thus totalling now 6 sets. The “Red Line” viaducts are scheduled for completion by September 2008, while completion schedules for the “T1/T3” and the “Green Line” are still under negotiation.
