RIZZANI DE ECCHER ENTERS NORWAY AND STRENGHTENS ITS PRESENCE IN NORTHERN EUROPE
06/11/2020

On 3 June, the Norwegian transport authority Nye Veier has assessed the proposals received for the design and build of the infrastructure project E6 Moelv-Roterud. Following an international tendering procedure, the selected offer has been the one submitted by the joint venture comprising the Italian Rizzani de Eccher and the Belgian Besix, in association with the Norwegian AF Gruppen, the designer and consultant Multiconsulit and the architect Knut Selberg.
Nye Veier and the joint venture have already started the verification phase of the project in order to enter very quickly into contract. The project may already start this August with the design and approval phases, in a view of reaching construction completion by the end of 2025.
The project envisages the construction of a main bridge of 1,350 meters over Mjøsa Lake and a motorway section of 11 kilometers.
The bridge will be an important point of reference for the region. The joint venture proposal, in fact, is based on the use of sustainable solutions, including the extensive use of wood, which is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also of high environmental interest. Mjøsa Lake is the largest lake in Norway and also one of the deepest in Europe, with a depth reaching 80 meters where the project will be performed.
The E6 Motorway from Moelv to Roterund envisages four lanes and is approximately 11 km long. The project includes expansion of the existing infrastructures, and also construction of new ones.
