GRUPPO RIZZANI DE ECCHER IS AWARDED BY PRIVATE TREATY THE CONTRACT FOR THE DYNAMO CENTRAL STADIUM RECONSTRUCTION, IN MOSCOW. THE PROJECT IS WORTH APPROXIMATELY EURO 525 MILLION
07/01/2014

The stadium is designed to serve the greater Moscow metropolitan area and is conceived as a multipurpose sports arena fully integrated into the surrounding urban landscape.
ZAO MC Dynamo (a subsidiary of Russia’s second largest bank VTB Bank) has entrusted Codest with the contract for the reconstruction of the Dynamo Central Stadium, under the design of architects David Manica and SPEECH Tchoban & Kuznetsov architectural bureau. Codest, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Italian general contracting group Rizzani de Eccher, has been successfully operating in Russia for over 30 years.
Situated in a historic park on Leningradskiy Prospekt in Moscow, this project is unique in Europe and calls for the reconstruction of the legendary Moscow stadium originally built in 1928. A portion of the old stadium’s historic façade will be preserved and integrated into the new shell designed by David Manica.
The multipurpose sports complex will have seating capacity for over 40,000 spectators and will consist of two arenas. Conceived as a venue for large sports and entertainment events, the complex will be the home of the Dynamo Moscow football and hokey teams, and include a football stadium with covered stands as well as a fully enclosed hockey rink. The rink can be used for other indoor sports such as basketball, tennis and volley and will have seating capacity for 14,000 people.
The sports complex is situated above a vast commercial area, which will include shops, restaurants, a multiplex movie theater, an underground car park accommodating 700 bays and a direct link to the nearest Moscow underground station, offering visitors countless shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities before and after sports events. The complex lies on one of the major arterial avenues in Moscow, 5km from the Kremlin.
This new contract is worth approximately Euro 525 million and represents the befitting complement to another very significant contract currently being performed by Rizzani de Eccher in the same area for the same client: the VTB Arena Park complex, consisting of 13 buildings (2 hotels, 4 office towers, 6 residential buildings and 1 service building) for a total value of ca. Euro 700 million.
Worth in aggregate over Euro 1.2 billion, the two projects provide the finest example of a radically innovative approach to the reinterpretation of large urban areas in modern metropolises, perfectly combining contemporary with traditional in a unique location in the historic and greenest heart of Moscow.
